During its September 2005 meeting, the Synod Assembly voted to donate $5000 each to the Presbytery of Mississippi and the Presbytery of South Louisiana to assist the victims of hurricanes in 2005. In each of the following two years, the Assembly voted again to donate $10,000 to assist victims of the hurricanes, who are still suffering.
