This webinar will traverse the options for homiletical exploration, specifically, the various modes of text selection (and combinations thereof), with a view to planning a year's worth of sermons from Advent (2025) to the Reign of Christ (2026). Themes both within and beyond lectionary Year A will be considered and suggested, along with other topical and expository approaches for making the most of a liturgical twelvemonth.
Tim Slemmons is Professor of Homiletics and Worship and Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. The author of numerous resources, Tim is also busy translating the Works of Oecolampadius (B&NPress) and issuing homespun records of his guitar-based arrangements and paraphrases of what he calls "Revenant Psalms" (those that have fallen outside the Sunday lectionary).
