Grants Committee Minutes – 12 May 2021
Present: Betty Angelini, Chair; Lisa Allgood, Amy Duiker, Chip Hardwick, Skip Jackson, Georgia McCall Amy opened the meeting with prayer.
Minutes from 12 April 21 tabled for approval until next meeting since quorum not present at time of action.
Educational Scholarships:
- Amount to award is $37,000
- Team working on this portion of charge is:
- Lisa, faciliatator
- Skip
- Georgia
- Based on input received from promotional activity and with knowledge from Chip that we have received 3 applications, we may need to offer extension to due date
- We will decide that on 25 with email communication
- In response to a proof of enrollment queery, we would prefer both enrollment letter from institution and class schedule for fall in that order but will accept only the first if that is all that is
- Criteria/Procedure for reviewing applications
- The members present suggested that Chip/Heather do initial review for eligibilty and distribute to the preliminary group those who are eligible
- The working team will review and recommend who and how much with caveats that those who mark BIPOC and demonstrate financial need will receive priority
- The committee suggests that how the person answers Matthew 25 related questions has greater weight than career goals
- Chip and Lisa will work on developing form/methodology
Church Grants-$50,000 to award

Church Grants 2020
- When these grants were awarded in /Dec. 2020, the awardees were advised of the need to submit a report at 6 and 12 months
- Lisa, Chip and Betty presented a draft report format that the group revised
- Group asked to review and suggest further modifications by 19.21 so can be sent out with deadline for return by 6.15.21
