Preachers through the Synod are invited to this workshop
Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022
via Zoom from 8:30am to 3pm
(with a lunch break from 11am to1pm)
Prophetic Preaching doesn’t mean sermons which tell the future; prophetic preaching follows in the footsteps of the Biblical prophets who had a right word from God at the right time to the right group of people. This word is sometimes hard and always challenging, spurring us to think about what shape the Kingdom of Heaven might take in the circumstances around us.
The upcoming preaching workshop will spring from Yale Divinity School scholar Leonora Tubbs Tisdale’s book, Prophetic Preaching: A Pastoral Approach. It will be a mix of lecture, Q&A, and small-group discussions.
This workshop is led by the Interim Executive of the Synod of the Covenant, Chip Hardwick, who earned his Ph.D. in homiletics at Princeton Theological Seminary in 2007.
There is no cost to you for this training, but you do need to register in order to receive the Zoom invitation link.
